What is Rebounding?

Rebounding is a form of cardio workout that takes place on a trampoline. You may have a trampoline of your own, or you may head to a specialist sports facility that provides trampolines to engage with this activity. You simply jump up and down on the spot. It really is as simple as that!

In a study by Dr. Paul E. DeVore, the trampoline burned calories up to 11 times faster than walking, 5 times faster than swimming and 3 times faster than running. Other forms of exercise only use a limited number of muscles or body parts. Using G-Forces, Cellercise® works all 75 trillion cells, nearly 100 times a minute.

Mike

“I have lost over 60 lbs. with the Cellerciser® and have about 20 more to go. This is the easiest and most effective form of exercise I have ever found. It never seems to be a chore to exercise for the ten minutes a day. Even on those days when I would rather not exercise, ten minutes are easy to do. Thank you for such an efficient mode of exercise.”

The amount of calories that you will burn while rebounding will be dependent on individual factors such as weight and size. But in regards to averages, if you weigh 180 pounds, you’re likely to burn 96 calories in twelve minutes of rebounding. If you weigh 160 pounds, you’re likely to burn 86 calories in twelve minutes.  If you’re 135 pounds, you’re likely to burn 75 calories by doing twelve minutes of rebounding. This is significantly more than the amount of calories you’re likely to burn carrying out activities such as brisk walking.

Rebounding Does More Than Just Burn Calories

Remember that burning calories isn’t the only benefit that comes hand in hand with rebounding. You may find that rebounding is the perfect form of exercise for you, as it is:

  • Low Impact – it has less impact on your joints than activities like jogging and cycling, making it more comfortable and easier to engage with, especially if you experience arthritis or other problems with your joints.

  • Low Pressure rebounding is generally an individual activity, which means you don’t feel the pressure of others relying on you to turn up to specific, scheduled classes or times to engage with it. Instead, you can have more control over when and where you carry out rebounding.

  • Fun many cardio activities are pretty dull. There are very few people who actively enjoy running on a treadmill while staring at a blank wall ahead of them for tens of minutes at a time. Rebounding is actually a fun activity. It gets your adrenaline going and can make you feel carefree.
