In a study by NASA, it was found that rebounding minimizes the impact on the foot and ankle by distributing the G-Force of the impact throughout the body. This is in contrast with running on a treadmill, where the G-Force is concentrated to the foot and lower body extremities. The concentrated G-Force increases the impact on the lower body, which can cause increased instances of injuries such as stress fractures, tendonitis, and shin splints. Low impact rebounding allows for the entire body to absorb the G-Force associated with gentle bouncing, creating a more well rounded and efficient exercise regimens.

Improved Endurance

In addition to low impact exercise, rebounding has been shown to improve endurance as well. In the same study by NASA, the researchers found that “The external work output at equivalent levels of oxygen uptake were significantly greater while trampolining than running.” In layman’s terms, the body was able to process oxygen more efficiently while rebounding than while running. This improved efficiency in the body’s ability to process oxygen demonstrates the ability to improve endurance through rebounding.

Enhanced Immunity

Yet another phenomenal benefit of rebounding is the potential to enhance one’s immunity. This was studied by measuring the G-Force of rebounding in connection to lymphocyte activity (a.k.a. your body’s immune response). G-Force was shown to improve lymphocyte activity by allowing increased efficiency in transporting immune system cells to the body.
